Privacy policy
Updated on October 28, 2026.
This page explains what data Estreou (www.estreou.com.br) keeps, what it is used for, who it is shared with and how you can see, correct or delete your data, as provided by Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD).
Data controller: Daniel Knevitz, de Porto Alegre. Contact: [email protected].
Without an account
You can use the calendar, the show pages and the premieres without an account and without giving any personal data. As on any website, the server and Cloudflare, which delivers the pages and protects the site, log technical data for each visit (IP address, browser, page visited and time). This is used only for security and to keep the site running.
With an account
To create an account we keep your name, email and password, which is encrypted (nobody can read it). After that we keep what you do on the site: the shows you follow, the episodes marked as watched, your Want to watch list, the streaming services you subscribe to, your time zone, language and notification preferences. We also keep the sign-up date and the date of your last visit.
What we use the data for
- Building your calendar and your lists.
- Sending the emails that are part of the account (email confirmation and password reset) and the ones you choose to receive, such as premiere notices and the weekly digest.
- Sending notifications to your phone or computer, if you turn them on.
- Protecting the site from abuse: failed sign-in attempts are logged with the IP address for 15 minutes, and sign-up goes through a bot check by Cloudflare (Turnstile).
We do not sell, rent or hand over your data to anyone for advertising.
Public profile
Your profile is public only if you turn it on. It shows your first name, calendar and lists. Your email and the services you subscribe to are not shown, and the profile does not appear on Google.
Notifications on your phone and computer
When you turn on notifications, the browser gives us a delivery address created by the browser's own notification service (from Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft). We use it only to send the notifications you chose. You can turn them off at any time, on the site or in your browser settings.
Cookies and data stored on your device
Estreou's own cookies are only the ones it needs to work:
maratona_sid: keeps you signed in. It is created only when you sign in or fill in a form, and stops working when you sign out.sel_tz: the time zone you picked at the bottom of the page. It exists only if you pick a time zone other than Eastern Time.cal: remembers which calendar tab you used last (signed-in users only).
The site may also store recently opened pages on your device, so it works offline, and your choice to hide the invitation to turn on notifications. Stored pages are deleted when you sign out.
Cookies from the Google services used on the site are explained in the sections below.
Visit statistics
We use Google Analytics to know how many people visit Estreou, which pages are viewed the most and where visits come from (country and approximate city, device type and the site or search that brought the person). It uses its own cookies, with names starting with _ga, and does not receive your name or email. Signed-in administrators are not counted.
To not be counted on any site that uses Google Analytics, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. See also how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Advertising
Estreou shows ads from Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to Estreou and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings. Cookies from other ad vendors can be turned off at www.aboutads.info. See also how Google uses cookies in advertising.
Visitors from Europe, the UK and Switzerland see a Google message asking for consent before these cookies are used.
Who the data is shared with
Only with the services the site needs to work, each with its own privacy policy:
- the hosting company, where the site and the database live;
- Cloudflare, which delivers the pages and protects the site from attacks;
- the service that sends the emails;
- the browsers' notification services, only if you turn on notifications;
- Google Analytics, which counts visits;
- Google AdSense, which shows the ads.
Some of these services are outside Brazil, so the data may be processed in other countries.
Show information comes from TVmaze. None of your data is sent to them.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while the account exists. When you delete the account, in My account, the profile, lists, notifications and sign-ins linked to it are deleted right away. The log of sent emails is deleted after 90 days.
Your rights
Under the LGPD you can ask to see the data we have about you, correct it, get a copy, delete it and withdraw consent, such as for notifications and the weekly digest. You can do almost all of it yourself in My account: change your name, email, time zone and password, turn notifications on and off and delete the account.
For any other request or question about your data, write to [email protected].
